
Four Mountain Hawks post top 10 finishes at FDU Invitational

HAMBURG, N.J. – The Lehigh women's golf team placed four players in the top 10 as the Mountain Hawks opened their fall season with a runner-up finish at the FDU Invitational, which wrapped up Sunday at Crystal Springs Country Club. The Mountain Hawks shot 313 in the final round to finish at 630 (617-613).
Senior Minuette Laessig led the Mountain Hawks on the weekend, tying for third place at 155 (78-77). Lehigh's top performer in Sunday's final round was junior Angela Ding, who shot two over par 74. Ding and freshman Hannah Foster both finished in a tie for seventh place at 158, with Ding going 84-74 and Foster shooting 75-83.
The fourth Lehigh player in the top 10 was freshman Addy Douglas, who tied for ninth at 159 (80-79). Freshman Iris Shin was Lehigh's fifth scorer and shot 179 (85-94) to tie for 33rd place.
Senior Rebecca Markunas competed as an individual, and was the low individual, tying for 13th place at 163 (86-77).
Tournament host Fairleigh Dickinson posted a 23-stroke win to capture the team title at 607 (306-301). FDU also had the top two individual finishers in Nicola Smith at 147 (73-74) and Caterina Tatti at 151 (77-74).
The Mountain Hawks will next play in the Bucknell Invitational, Sept. 14-15 in Lewisburg, Pa.
