
Lehigh opens fall campaign with opening round at FDU Invitational

HAMBURG, N.J. – The Lehigh women's golf team opened its fall season by shooting 317 in round one of the FDU Invitational Saturday at Crystal Springs Country Club. Freshman Hannah Foster led the Mountain Hawks, shooting three over par 75 on Saturday to sit in third place, as the Mountain Hawks sit in second place in a 10-team field. Lehigh trails host FDU, who shot 306 to take an 11-stroke lead into the final round.
In addition to Foster, Lehigh has three individuals in the top 10. Senior Minuette Laessig shot 78 and is in sixth place, while freshman Addy Douglas shot 80 and is currently ninth. Junior Angela Ding carded an 84 and is tied for 16th place, while freshman Iris Shin shot 85 and is tied for 21st.
Competing as an individual, senior Rebecca Markunas shot 86 and is tied for 24th place.
Nicola Smith of host Fairleigh Dickinson and Jacqueline Gonzalez of Holy Cross are tied for the lead at one over par 73, two shots better than Foster.
The FDU Invitational wraps up Sunday with the final 18 holes beginning at 9 a.m. from Crystal Spring Country Club.
