
Lehigh men wrap up play at Alex Lagowitz Memorial Invitational

HAMILTON, N.Y. – The Lehigh men's golf team closed out action in its first fall event as the Alex Lagowitz Memorial Invitational wrapped-up Sunday at Seven Oaks Golf Club. Freshman Alexander Aurora led the way with a final round 75 as The Mountain Hawks shot 315 on Sunday to finish at 927 (309-303-315).
Aurora ended up as the low Mountain Hawk for the weekend, tying for 52nd place at 229 (78-76-75). Aurora's final round included a pair of birdies.
Senior Ryan Kelly was the only other Mountain Hawk to break 80 on Sunday, carding three birdies on the way to a 78 as he tied for 72nd place at 233 (77-78-78).
Senior Owen Quinn birdied two of his first three holes on Sunday and shot 38 on the back nine, but front nine troubles resulted in an 81. Quinn tied for 68th place at 232 (77-74-81).
Freshman Daniel Song also shot 81 on Sunday that included two birdies as he finished at 233 (78-75-81) and tied for 72nd with Kelly.
Also competing for Lehigh was freshman David Hurly, who shot 82 on Sunday and tied for 89th place at 237 (77-78-82).
Cornell held off a Sunday charge from Bucknell to win the team title. The Big Red finished at 880 (286-290-304) to beat the Bison by three strokes.
Rhode Island's Chris Francoeur shot a final round 68 and coasted to medalist honors at seven under par 209 (71-70-68). He beat two players by six strokes.
The Mountain Hawks will play next weekend at The Doc Gimmler, hosted by St. John's, Saturday and Sunday in Farmingdale, N.Y.
