
Mountain Hawks open fall with first 36 holes at Alex Lagowitz Memorial Invitational

HAMILTON, N.Y. – The Lehigh men's golf team opened its fall season Saturday with the first 36 holes of the Alex Lagowitz Memorial Invitational, hosted by Colgate at Seven Oaks Golf Club. On a day where three Mountain Hawk freshmen made their collegiate debuts, Lehigh carded rounds of 309 and 303 to sit at 612 heading into Sunday's final round.
Senior Owen Quinn is the low Mountain Hawk after day one, following a first day total of 151 (77-74). Quinn led Lehigh with seven birdies, four in round one and three in round two, and is tied for 47th place. He was one of three Mountain Hawks to shoot 77 Saturday morning and then led Lehigh with his afternoon 74.
Of the three freshmen playing for Lehigh, Daniel Song was the low man after 36 holes as he sits in a tie for 59th at 153. He rebounded from a 78 in the morning to shoot 75 with three birdies in the afternoon.
Freshman Alex Aurora is one stroke behind Song at 154, which puts him in a tie for 67th place. Aurora's lone birdie of the day came on the second hole of round one.
Senior Ryan Kelly and freshman David Hurly are both tied for 70th place at 155 after both shooting 77 and 78 in their two rounds. Kelly made two birdies in each round, while Hurly totaled three for the day.
Cornell holds the 36 hole team lead at 576 (286-290), eight strokes better than second place Yale, while Seton Hall and Columbia are tied for third at 587.
The individual leader is Charlie Dubel from Cornell at four under par 140 (69-71). He leads Rhode Island's Chris Francoeur and Teddy Zisner of Yale by one stroke.
