Senior class paces Mountain Hawks at Hoya Invitational

BEALLSVILLE, Md. – With senior Reagan Jahn leading the way with a 75, the Lehigh women's golf team shot 318 on the final day of the Hoya Invitational at Four Streams Golf Club. The Mountain Hawks finished the two-day, 54-hole event at 957 (322-317-318) to claim seventh place in an eight-team field.
 
Senior Aileen Jeong was Lehigh's top finisher, tying for 15th place at 231 (75-76-80).
 
Jahn's 75 matched Jeong's opening round 75 for the low Lehigh round of the tournament, making one birdie on the day and moving into a tie for 23rd place at 235 (81-79-75).
 
Junior Minuette Laessig bounced back with a 77 Tuesday after shooting two rounds in the 80s on Monday. Laessig finished in 35th place at 245 (85-83-77).
 
Junior Rebecca Markunas and sophomore Angela Ding both shot 86 in Tuesday's final round. Markunas tied for 36th place at 247 (81-80-86), while Ding finished at 253 (85-82-86) and tied for 41st.
 
Tournament host Georgetown won the team title at 906 (302-299-305), besting Ball State by eight strokes. Lehigh finished second among the three Patriot League schools in the field, with Richmond finishing fourth at 917 and Bucknell claiming eighth place at 986.

Christina Parsells of Georgetown was the individual medalist at two over par 218 (71-73-74). She beat Danielle Nicholson of Akron by one stroke.
 
The Mountain Hawks will play their final tournament before the Patriot League Championship when they compete in the Navy Spring Invitational, Saturday and Sunday at the Naval Academy Golf Club in Annapolis, Md.
