
Mountain Hawks top Boston U. 4-2 for second straight league win

WEST POINT, N.Y. – Lehigh opened its weekend trip to West Point with its second straight Patriot League win as the Mountain Hawks downed Boston University 4-2 Saturday afternoon. The Mountain Hawks won two of three doubles matches and added wins in three tightly contested singles matches to improve to 3-1 in Patriot League action and 10-6 overall.
In doubles, Lehigh's top team of sophomore Harry Wang and freshman Zack Elliott gave the Mountain Hawks a fast start with a 6-1 win over Owen Lu and David Bogatin, but the Terriers came back to win at the No. 2 flight. Lehigh clinched the doubles point at No. 3 as senior Bryant Born and freshman Andrew Nakhjavan edged Pete Siozios and Ethan Kolsky 7-6.
BU evened the match with a victory at the top singles flight as Lu topped Wang in straight sets, but Elliott won 6-4, 6-4 over Bogatin at No. 2 to put Lehigh back in front. Senior Christopher Auteri gave Lehigh a 3-1 advantage with a 6-3, 6-2 win over Mark Sable at the No. 6 flight. The Terriers claimed a three-set win at No. 3 singles, but Born clinched the match, beating Max Stehling 6-3 in the third set to win at No. 4.
Boston University falls to 7-14 overall and 2-3 in league matches.
Lehigh will stay at West Point to face Army West Point Sunday at noon.
