BETHLEHEM, Pa. – The Lehigh women's golf team heads to Virginia for the 2019 Patriot League Championship, which Richmond will host for the first time at Independence Golf Club. The annual league championship tournament features 54 holes (36 Saturday and 18 Sunday) at the par-72, 6,063-yard course. Richmond, the three-time defending champion, will host the event for the first time.

Action begins at 8:30 a.m. Saturday for the six Patriot League institutions. This will be the seventh Patriot League Women's Golf Championship. Lehigh won the inaugural championship in 2013 and finished fifth last year at Navy.

The Patriot League team champion will earn the league's automatic bid to the NCAA Women's Golf Regionals. Four different schools (Lehigh, Bucknell, Boston U. and Richmond) have won the team title in the first six championship events.

The top five individual finishers (including ties) will earn first team All-Patriot League honors, while finishers six through 10 (including ties) will earn second team All-Patriot League honors.

Senior Reagan Jahn will lead Lehigh's six-player entry. Jahn is a two-time second-team All-Patriot League honoree, who missed all-league honors by one stroke last year. She is on track to graduate with the lowest career scoring average in program history and is coming off a spring in which she set program records for low round (68) and lowest 54-hole tournament score (219).

Senior Aileen Jeong was first team All-Patriot League and the league's Rookie of the Year as a freshman in 2016. She will play in the No. 2 position. Jeong was Lehigh's low player at the April 8-9 Hoya Invitational.

Junior Minuette Laessig will play in the No. 3 position. Laessig also earned a Patriot League Rookie of the Year award after tying for 16th place in 2017. She led Lehigh at the fall season-opening Towson Invitational back in September.

Sophomore Angela Ding will occupy the No. 4 spot. Ding started last year's Patriot League Championship strong, eventually tying for 12th place. She was also Lehigh's No. 2 finisher last time out at the Navy Spring Invitational.

Junior Rebecca Markunas will play at No. 5 in her third Patriot League Championship appearance, while freshman Alexis Carras will make her PLC debut at No. 6.

In its last action before the Patriot League Championship, Lehigh finished third out of five teams at the Navy Spring Invitational, April 13-14 in Annapolis, Md. Jahn led Lehigh with a fifth place finish, while Ding also made the top 10, tying for eighth.

For Saturday's first two rounds, Lehigh will be paired with Boston University and Richmond. Players will tee off from the first hole at 8:30 a.m. for round one and off the 10th hole at 1 p.m. for round two.

Live scoring will be available on GolfStat.com.
