Leufroy and Tejada to compete in 3X3U National Championship during Final Four weekend

BETHLEHEM, Pa. – Following impressive collegiate careers, Lehigh men's basketball seniors Kyle Leufroy and Lance Tejada have been invited to participate in the Dos Equis 3X3U National Championship from Friday, Apr. 5 through Sunday, Apr. 7 at the Mall of America in Minneapolis, the same city as this year's Final Four. The event features 32 four-man teams, representing every Division I basketball conference, competing against each other for a $150,000 prize. These teams are comprised of seniors who have exhausted their collegiate eligibility. The Mountain Hawks will make up half of the Patriot League team, along with Bucknell's Kimbal Mackenzie and Holy Cross' Jehyve Floyd.
 
Last year, Lehigh's Kahron Ross competed in the inaugural year of the event. The 3X3U National Championship will be streamed live via Twitter on Friday, April 5 beginning at 3 p.m. ET and Saturday, April 6 beginning at 9:30 a.m. ET. On Sunday, April 7, the Round of 16 and quarterfinal games will be streamed live on Twitter at 10:30 a.m. ET, and the semifinals, third-place game and championship game broadcast live on ESPN2 at 3 p.m. ET.
 
Leufroy ended his decorated Lehigh career 15th in school history with 1,417 career points. He impressed from the beginning, jumping into the starting lineup midway through his freshman season. Leufroy helped the Mountain Hawks reach the Patriot League Championship Game as a freshman and sophomore, averaging 10.6 and 11.4 points per game, respectively. A Patriot League All-Rookie team member as a freshman, Leufroy was named third team All-League as a senior when he averaged career highs in scoring (13.8), rebounding (5.2) and assists (3.4). Leufroy scored 20+ points seven times as a senior after doing so six times over his first three seasons. Leufroy also shot 40.0 percent from three for his career, including 44.1 percent as a freshman and 42.7 percent as a senior.
 
Tejada is a two-time All-Patriot League honoree, garnering All-League in each of his two seasons suiting up for the Mountain Hawks. The East Carolina transfer impressed from the beginning, scoring 24 points in his first Lehigh game at Marist. Tejada led the Mountain Hawks in scoring in each of his seasons, averaging 14.7 points as a junior and 14.5 as a senior. He has been among the national leaders in three-point shooting, connecting on 45.3 percent as a junior (10th in the country) and 41.7 percent as a senior (30th). Included for Tejada was a 10-of-14 effort at Holy Cross as he scored a career-high 36 points, tying the school record for three pointers in a game. Tejada went on to score 20+ points in league games at Navy and vs. Army West Point.
