Jahn posts top 20 finish to lead Mountain Hawks at Lady Thunderbird Invitational

ST. GEORGE, Utah – Senior Reagan Jahn shot 76 to secure a top 20 individual finish as the Lehigh women's golf team finished up play at the Pizza Hut Lady Thunderbird Invitational Friday at Sunbrook Golf Course. The Mountain Hawks shot 325 on Friday to finish 11 in a 14-team field at 638 (313-325).
 
Jahn was the only Mountain Hawk to break 80 on Friday. With her second consecutive round of 76, Jahn tied for 16th place at 152.
 
Senior Aileen Jeong and sophomore Angela Ding both shot 81 on Friday. Jeong tied for 49th place at 160 (79-81), while Ding finished at 163 (82-81) and tied for 63rd.
 
Juniors Minuette Laessig and Rebecca Markunas both closed their tournaments with rounds of 87. Laessig tied for 65th place at 164 (77-87). Markunas shot 168 (81-87) and tied for 75th.
 
Freshman Alexis Carras competed as an individual and finished in 84th place at 191.
 
Cal Baptist captured the team title with a final score of 589 (292-297). The Lancers posted a nine stroke victory over host Southern Utah.
 
Taylor McCorkle of North Dakota State shot seven under par 65 on Friday to move from a tie for 18th to individual medalist at three under par 141 (76-65). McCorkle posted a one stroke victory over Chanikan Yongyan of Southern Utah.
 
The Mountain Hawks are slated to play a dual match against La Salle on Sunday March 31. Their next tournament will be the Hoya Invitational April 8-9 in Beallsville, Md.
