BETHLEHEM, Pa. – Following sensational efforts at Lafayette and Army West Point, Lehigh men's basketball junior Jordan Cohen has been named Patriot League Player of the Week, as announced on Monday. Cohen scored 51 points on 20-of-28 shooting over a pair of games last week, helping the Mountain Hawks to road victories to improve to 15-6 on the season, 8-2 in league play. The weekly award marks Cohen's first of his career while it's Lehigh's first Player of the Week award of the season and third weekly award overall (with Nic Lynch and Jeameril Wilson each winning Rookie of the Week in November).

One game after scoring a career-high 32 points vs. Boston University, Cohen scored 33 vs. Lafayette last Wednesday. Twenty-one of those points came over the game's final 7:58 (seven points over the final 2:58 of regulation and 14 in overtime). He scored 14 of Lehigh's 18 points in overtime as the Mountain Hawks scored on every single possession. Cohen took all six Lehigh field goal attempts in the extra session, making them all. The 14 points in OT were just three from tying the NCAA record. Cohen ended up scoring 21 of Lehigh's final 30 points in an incredible display.
Cohen went on to impress at Army as well, scoring 18 points on 6-of-9 shooting, including 4-of-5 from three. In the second half alone, Cohen had 13 points (on just five field goal attempts), six rebounds and three assists as the Mountain Hawks posted their largest comeback (19) in head coach Brett Reed's 12 seasons. Lehigh was down by 18 with less than 13:30 remaining and used a 13-0 run to pull even. Cohen went on to hit the shot that put Lehigh up for good, a three-pointer with 1:28 left to put the Mountain Hawks up 71-70.
Cohen's success has gone back beyond this week; over his last three games, he has scored 83 points (27.7 average), shooting 32-of-42 from the field (76.2 percent). On the year, Cohen is averaging 13.5 points per game; his 53.6 percentage from three (30-of-56) would be a Patriot League record if the season ended today.

The Mountain Hawks are set to host Colgate on Monday night at 7 p.m. in a nationally-televised game on CBS Sports Network. It's Office Night presented by Ricoh. Lehigh then remains home to host Navy on Saturday at 4:30 p.m. as the second game of a doubleheader with the Lehigh women. Saturday is Diversity and Inclusion Day presented by Lehigh University's Office of Diversity, Inclusion, and Equity.
