No. 5 Lehigh set to visit No. 4 Navy in Patriot League Quarterfinal matchup

BETHLEHEM, Pa. — The Lehigh volleyball team enters the week preparing for its quarterfinal match-up in the 2019 Patriot League Tournament. On Tuesday night, the fifth-seeded Mountain Hawks will compete against fourth-seeded Navy in Annapolis, Md. at 7 p.m.
This is the team's seventh berth to postseason in the last nine years and the first time since 2017.
The Mountain Hawks enter the tournament coming off a win against Holy Cross and holds a record of 14-16 overall and 7-9 in the Patriot League.
The Mountain Hawks are offensively led by junior Hannah Wright who leads the team with 308 kills and 24 service aces. Along with Wright, junior outside hitter Sabrina Lancaster contributes to the offensive charge with 3.24 kills per set. Senior middle blocker Emily Poole remains one of the Patriot League's leaders in total blocks with 120, while averaging 1.19/set. She also leads the league in individual blocks with 30. Fellow senior middle-blocker Lauren Bright is currently ranked first in the league in hitting with a mark of .347. Senior libero Jess Donaldson still leads Lehigh in digs with 253, and Sarah Carman leads with 658 assists.
On Monday, Wright and Poole were named Second Team All-Patriot League selections for the second consecutive season.
Lehigh is hitting .209 as a team this season, averaging 12.2 kills per set and 11.5 assists per set.
The defending Patriot League champion Midshipmen (16-11, 10-5 PL) enter the tournament coming off a win against Lafayette. In regular season play, Navy was victorious over Lehigh on two occasions with a 3-0 win on Oct. 5 and a 3-1 win on Nov. 1.
The Midshipmen are led by Maddi Sgattoni, who ranks fourth in the Patriot League with 303 kills, while averaging 3.44/set. Sgattoni also ranks third in the league with 30 service aces. She picked up her 1,000th career kill over the weekend and received Second Team All-Patriot League honors.
Sofia Hruby leads Navy with 73 totals blocks and 16 individual blocks on the season. Emily Solis paces the team with 358 digs, averaging 3.81 digs per set. Paige Miles ranks fourth in the Patriot League after accumulating 976 assists.
The Midshipmen are hitting .221 overall this year while averaging 13 kills per set, 12 assists per set and 13.9 digs per set.
Tuesday's match will be streamed live on the Patriot League Network with coverage beginning at 7 p.m.
