BETHLEHEM, Pa. — It was quite the weekend for sophomore right-side hitter Hannah Wright, with two elite performances that led the Lehigh volleyball team to wins over Bucknell and Lafayette.

As a result, Wright was named Patriot League Player of the Week, announced Monday. The award is the first of Wright's career and the second Player of the Week honor for Lehigh after Ana Spangenberg took the award after the first week of the season.

Wright notched 18 kills, seven digs and three blocks to lead the Mountain Hawks past the Bison on Friday. She then led her teammates with 20 kills, six digs, six blocks and three service aces with a .318 hitting percentage in a four-set victory over archrival Lafayette.

"Hannah has been working extremely hard in practice and she's been a secret weapon for us," said head coach Alexa Keckler. "There's some matches where she just really shines through and there's other matches where she gets it done quietly.

"But these two matches this weekend, she was on fire, she found her zone and figured out her ability to pound and tip and roll and she figured out multiple ways to score, which really made her a huge threat"

On the season, Wright is hitting .178 with 262 kills, averaging 2.82 per set, along with 150 digs and 69 blocks.

Wright looks to lead Lehigh in its Tuesday matchup with the American Eagles in Washington D.C. The Mountain Hawks have two matches remaining to close out the 2018 regular season.
