LEWISBURG, Pa. - The Lehigh field hockey team battled back from an early 1-0 deficit to even the score, but Bucknell responded with the final two first-half goals, on its way to a 3-1 win over the Mountain Hawks on Friday evening. Freshman Drew Pecora scored Lehigh's goal following a penalty corner. The Mountain Hawks will now return to action on Sunday when they host Yale at 1 p.m.
Â
"We played hard, which is a staple of this team, but we didn't take lessons learned from previous games and implement them tonight," said Lehigh head coach Caitlin Dallmeyer. "We allowed things to get chaotic instead of being disciplined with our game."
Â
Freshman Lenke Havas picked up the assist on Lehigh's goal as part of an impressive performance, while classmate Anna Mostoller saw significant minutes and made a strong impact as well.
Â
Bucknell took a 1-0 lead at the 6:41 mark as Chloe Poltonavage finished in front of the cage. The Mountain Hawks responded less than 10 minutes later. On their second consecutive penalty corner, Pecora put home her second goal of the season at 16:30.
