BETHLEHEM, Pa. - Winners of eight of its last nine games, the Lehigh softball team is set to host Bucknell for three games over Saturday and Sunday. Both days will begin at noon at Leadership Park, with a doubleheader on Saturday and single game on Sunday. All games will be available on the Patriot League Network. Most recently, the Mountain Hawks earned a doubleheader sweep of Saint Joseph's to improve to 15-15 overall, to go with their 5-1 Patriot League record. Bucknell enters the weekend 6-0 in league play.

The Mountain Hawks are coming off a pair of low-scoring wins against Saint Joseph's on Wednesday, winning 3-1 in nine innings and 2-1 in the second game. In the bottom of the first inning of game one, Lehigh got on the board when junior Carolyn Wright got hit by a pitch with the bases loaded. Saint Joe's tied the score in the fifth inning on an RBI single. The game went into extra innings, and Wright gave the Mountain Hawks the lead for good with a walk-off two-run home run. Lehigh finished the game with 11 hits, as four players recorded two hits. Senior pitcher Christine Campbell recorded her ninth win of the season.

In the second game of the doubleheader, the game was scoreless for the first four innings until junior Cassie Lajeunesse drove in the first run in the bottom of the fifth inning. An inning later, Wright continued her strong day with an RBI single, driving in senior Ashley Cole. Saint Joseph's picked up a run in the top of the seventh, but Lehigh was able to squeeze out the 2-1 victory. Lehigh did so while recording just three hits, as sophomore pitcher Emily Sorem allowed just one run in seven innings.

Entering the weekend, Lehigh stands in second place in the league standings, only behind Bucknell. Junior outfielder Nicole Yozzo leads the Mountain Hawks in batting average thus far at .355, adding a team-high 14 stolen bases. Freshman Reva Alderman still holds a team-leading 19 RBI, but Wright is just behind with 18 following her performance against Saint Joe's. Campbell's ERA drops to 2.17 following her win, while Sorem's drops to 2.68.

Bucknell enters the series having won seven straight and 11 of its last 12. The Bison, who are 21-5 overall, are first in the Patriot League following series sweeps of both Lafayette and Colgate. Bucknell has allowed just three runs in its six league games. Lauren Hadley leads the team with a .435 batting average and nine stolen bases. Anna Gimmestad is batting .414 with a team-high 27 runs and nine doubles. The team has a 2.16 overall ERA, which ranks 34th in the country. The pitchers are led by Raeanne Geffert, who is 12-2 with a 2.07 ERA in 18 appearances.

Historically, Lehigh is 88-41 all time against the Bison, beating them three out of four times last year, including a 1-0 victory in the first round of the Patriot League Tournament. In those four games, the Mountain Hawks allowed just four runs.

Following this weekend's games, Lehigh will play Fordham in a home doubleheader on Wednesday. The first game is set for 2:30 p.m. at Leadership Park.
