TAMPA. Fla. – The Lehigh men's and women's track and field programs will kick off the outdoor portion of their schedules this Friday afternoon at the USF Bulls Invitational. The Mountain Hawks have spent the last several days in the Sunshine State as part of their spring break training trip.
Â
Lehigh's jumpers and distance runners will be among those competing at the Bulls Invitational. LU's throwers were also scheduled to compete at the Philadelphia College Classic at Franklin Field this Saturday, but that meet has been cancelled due to inclement weather.
Â
The two-day Bulls Invitational will start on Friday afternoon with the throws at noon, followed by the heptathlon at 3 p.m. and the jumps beginning at 4 p.m. The lone track event of the day will be the 5K at 7 p.m. Saturday's jumps will get underway at 10 a.m., with the women's 4x100 relay kicking off the track events at 11 a.m. A complete schedule of events can be found here and live results will be available.
Â
Both Lehigh teams last competed at the Patriot League's Indoor Championships on February 19, where the women finished fourth and the men took home fifth place. Lehigh took home five individual league championships and had two women earn second team all-league honors for their runner-up performances. Four school records also fell during the championships, and Lehigh also surpassed four Patriot League Championship meet records.
Â
This weekend marks the beginning of 11 meets the Mountain Hawks are scheduled to compete in leading up to the Patriot League Championships, which be hosted by Lehigh at the Goodman Campus Track on May 5-6.
