BETHLEHEM, Pa. - Riding a four-game winning streak, the Lehigh men's basketball team is set to host Colgate in the Patriot League Quarterfinals on Thursday evening in Stabler Arena. Opening tipoff is set for 7 p.m. The Mountain Hawks finished the regular season 18-11 overall, 12-6 in Patriot League play, which was tied for second in the standings. Lehigh enters the tournament as the No. 3 seed and will host the sixth-seeded Raiders, just eight days after the two teams squared off in Stabler.

The Mountain Hawks are set to play their fourth straight Patriot League Tournament game at home (three last season and one in 2014-15). Lehigh is in the midst of an impressive run; this will be the seventh time in the last eight seasons the Mountain Hawks have hosted at least a quarterfinal game; Lehigh's winning percentage in league play is 61.7 percent in that time, reaching double-figure Patriot League victories six times in those eight years.

The Mountain Hawks have won each of their last four games by double figures, topping Navy (74-55), Lafayette (81-55), Colgate (87-69) and Army West Point (83-69). Most recently, Lehigh used a 12-0 run to begin the second half to turn a 35-33 lead into a 47-33 advantage against the Black Knights. Senior Tim Kempton played a big role in the run, scoring nine of the 12 points, which included a reversal dunk on a putback. He finished the evening with 25 points and 11 rebounds in just 23 minutes on his Senior Night, connecting on 10-of-14 field goals. The double-double was his league-leading 18th of the season, his sixth in the last seven games and 51st of his career. Sophomore Kyle Leufroy also scored 20 points, while posting six rebounds and a career-high six assists. Leufroy has scored 39 points over his last two games and connected on 9-of-18 three-pointers in that span.

Junior Brandon Alston also impressed, tying a career-high 18 points on 7-of-14 shooting and 3-of-6 from three-point range. Classmate Kahron Ross had eight points and eight assists, compared to just two turnovers, while senior Austin Price had seven points, five rebounds and five assists as well. Lehigh recorded nine steals for the game as the Mountain Hawks own 30 steals over the last three games.

Lehigh's defense has continued to impress, holding the Black Knights below their season average of 73.1 points per game. The Mountain Hawks allowed just 49 points over the first 32:30, as Lehigh jumped out to a commanding 67-49 lead. Lehigh finished the month of February by allowing just 62.1 points per game.

The Mountain Hawks are set to play their fifth straight Patriot League Tournament game at home (three last season and one in 2014-15).

Last season, Lehigh had a memorable postseason run, which fell just short in the championship game. Most of that core has returned, including three members - Kempton, Price and Ross - who were named All-Patriot League for a second straight season on Monday. Kempton was named to the first team, Price second team and Ross third team. Kempton fell short of being named Patriot League Player of the Year for a third straight season, despite leading the league in points and rebounds by 3.9 points and 2.2 rebounds, respectively, and being one of just two players in the nation averaging 20+ points and 10+ rebounds per game. Over the last two seasons, Kempton has 12 double-doubles in 17 February games, helping lead Lehigh to a 15-2 record in that span.

Colgate finished the regular season with an 8-10 league mark, good for the No. 6 seed in the tournament. The Raiders have picked up some strong wins, including at Boston University, home vs. Navy and two wins against Loyola. After their last Loyola win, the team dropped its last two games of the regular season, at Lehigh and home vs. Lafayette. Patriot League Rookie of the Year Will Rayman has led the offense, averaging 14.4 points and 4.5 rebounds. Sean O'Brien comes in at 12.4 points and a team-leading 4.1 assists per contest while Jordan Swopshire averages 10.5 points and 4.6 rebounds. Colgate is third in the Patriot League in three-point field goal percentage (36.9), only behind Lehigh and Bucknell. Last week against the Mountain Hawks, the Raiders knocked down seven of their first eight three-pointers of the evening.

Lehigh's 87-69 win over Colgate last Wednesday marked the Mountain Hawks' fourth straight against the Raiders. Lehigh is now within 51-40 in the all-time series. The Mountain Hawks won the first meeting of 2016-17 at Colgate, 76-62. Last season in Stabler Arena, Price scored a career-high 28 points in a 79-70 win. Prior to that game, Colgate had won three in a row in the all-time series. The Mountain Hawks have won nine of the last 13 games against Colgate overall, including Patriot League Quarterfinal victories in 2012 and 2013. The first-ever meeting between the two sides was in 1909-10, a 25-24 Colgate win. Lehigh's first victory was in 1961-62 by a 72-71 final.

If the Mountain Hawks win on Thursday, they would either travel to Boston University or host Loyola/Lafayette in the Patriot League Semifinals on Sunday.
