BETHLEHEM, Pa. - Coming off a pair of strong performances last week, the Lehigh men's basketball team returns home to close out the regular season, beginning on Wednesday when it hosts Colgate at 7 p.m. The game is presented by Ricoh. The Mountain Hawks have surged into a tie for third place in the Patriot League standings, with a chance to move as high as the No. 2 seed with two wins this week, and some help. With a win against Colgate Wednesday, Lehigh would clinch a home game in the Patriot League Quarterfinals for the seventh time in the last eight seasons.

Tickets for Wednesday's game are free with a Lehigh ID and as low as $5 for the general public. Lehigh students and fans, check into the game through the Mountain Hawk Rewards App for a chance to play a knockout game at halftime, with the winner attempting a half-court shot for $500.
Lehigh students can take the Campus Connector bus to the game, with buses set to leave at 6:30 p.m. from Packer Ave. and 6:34 from Pi Beta Phi. Buses will continually run back from the Goodman Campus at 8:33, 8:53, 9:13, 9:33, etc. For the complete campus connector bus schedule, please click here

On Sunday, the Mountain Hawks jumped out to a 14-2 lead and wouldn't look back. The closest Lafayette would get the rest of the way is seven (18-11) before Lehigh opened a 16-point lead, which proved to be the halftime margin. The Mountain Hawks scored 32 of the first 48 second-half points to double their lead, as a three-pointer from sophomore Matt Holba gave Lehigh a 72-40 advantage, as the Mountain Hawks went on to eclipse 80 points for the first time since Jan. 11, winning 81-55. The 26-point win was Lehigh's largest margin of victory over Lafayette since an 86-51 win on Jan. 21, 1995. It was also Lehigh's largest-ever margin of victory at Lafayette in program history.

The win gave Lehigh 10 Patriot League victories, the third straight season and sixth time in the last eight years the Mountain Hawks have recorded double-figure league wins. Senior Tim Kempton led the offense with his 16th double-double of the season, recording 22 points and 10 rebounds in just 23 minutes. Senior Austin Price added 12 points, sophomore Kyle Leufroy had 11 and junior Kahron Ross scored 10. No one played more than 30 minutes and all 11 Mountain Hawks who saw action, scored.

Holba finished with seven points and seven rebounds. Junior Jay Jay Davis scored four points for the second straight Sunday while freshman Josh Wolf added two. As a team, the Mountain Hawks shot 43.1 percent from the field, including 41.4 percent from three-point range (12-of-29). The 12 made treys marked a season high. Ross was 2-of-3 from long distance while Price finished 4-of-8, his fourth straight game with multiple made treys (he is 14-of-28 in that span).

As a team, Lehigh was 19-of-19 from the charity stripe, just the 16th time in the nation that a team has been perfect from the line this season. The 19 makes are third most by any team without a miss. The Mountain Hawks have now hit 88.2 percent of their free throws (67-of-76) over their last five games to improve their season total to 77.7 percent (eighth in the nation). Lehigh's defense also continued to impress, holding its opponent to 55 points for a second straight game. The Mountain Hawks have allowed just 59.8 points per game in six February games so far. Lehigh finished with 11 steals, the team's most since last Feb. 10 at Bucknell when they also had 11. It was the first time the Mountain Hawks had double-digit steals since this season's Patriot League opener at Army West Point.

Colgate enters Wednesday's game in a tie for fifth place with an 8-8 Patriot League record. The Raiders have picked up some strong wins, including at Boston University, home vs. Navy and two wins against Loyola. Most recently, the Raiders earned an overtime win at Loyola on Sunday. Freshman Will Rayman has led the offense, averaging 14.8 points and 4.5 rebounds. Sean O'Brien comes in at 12.3 points and a team-leading 4.0 assists per contest while Jordan Swopshire averages 10.2 points and 4.7 rebounds. Malcolm Regisford leads the team in rebounding (7.4) to go with his 8.1 points per game. Colgate is third in the Patriot League in three-point field goal percentage (36.4), only behind Lehigh and Bucknell.

Lehigh has won three straight games against Colgate, beating the Raiders in the first meeting, 76-62, to pull within 51-39 in the all-time series. In the last meeting in Stabler Arena, the Mountain Hawks picked up a 79-70 win behind a career-high 28 points from Price. Prior to that win, Colgate had won three in a row in the all-time series. The Mountain Hawks have won nine of the last 13 games against Colgate overall, including Patriot League Quarterfinal victories in 2012 and 2013. Lehigh has won two of the last three meetings at Colgate. The first-ever meeting between the two sides was in 1909-10, a 25-24 Colgate win. The next game didn't come until 1959-60. Lehigh's first victory was in 1961-62 by a 72-71 final.

The Mountain Hawks wrap up the regular season on Saturday when they host Army West Point. Opening tipoff is set for 7:30 p.m.
