Jeong leads Mountain Hawks in spring-opening FAU Winter Warmup

BOCA RATON, Fla. – Sophomore Aileen Jeong shot two over par 74 to lead the Lehigh women's golf team in its first spring event. Despite unseasonably warm temperatures in the Lehigh Valley, the Mountain Hawks got away to sunny Florida to take on Brown and Florida Atlantic in Monday's FAU Winter Warmup. Lehigh's five scoring players totaled a 310 in its' spring opener.
Jeong finished four strokes behind medalist Elizabeth Doykan of Brown. The Bears finished with a team score of 299, while the host Owls of Florida Atlantic shot 303.
Another sophomore, Reagan Jahn, was Lehigh's second lowest scorer, carding a 78 to tie for 10th place. Junior Megan Moylan and freshman Minuette Laessig were part of a tie for 12th at 79, while senior Elizabeth McGarrigle shot 80 and tied for 15th place.
Freshman Rebecca Markunas competed as an individual and shot 88.
The Mountain Hawks will return to Florida next month for their next tournament as they will play in the Seminole State Spring Break Tournament, March 14-15 in Lake Mary, Fla.
