Mountain Hawks to open spring season Monday at FAU Winter Warmup

BETHLEHEM, Pa. – The Lehigh women's golf team will begin its spring campaign Monday when the Mountain Hawks travel to Florida to compete against Brown and Florida Atlantic in the FAU Winter Warmup at Osprey Point Golf Club. This competition is the first of five spring events for the Mountain Hawks, capped off by Lehigh hosting the Patriot League Championship at Saucon Valley Country Club.
The Mountain Hawks put together a solid fall season, highlighted by a first place finish in the Lehigh Invitational. It marked the first time Lehigh has won its own invitational since 2005. A fourth place finish out of 13 teams in the Tignanelli Towson Invitational and a fifth place finish out of 15 teams in the Pirate Invitational were some other notable results for the Mountain Hawks in the fall.
Senior Elizabeth McGarrigle was Lehigh's top finisher in three of the five events including finishing in first overall individually in the Lehigh Invitational. Sophomore Regan Jahn and junior Megan Moylan were the top finishers in the other two events respectively. Last year's Patriot League Rookie of the Year, sophomore Aileen Jeong and freshmen Minuette Laessig and Rebecca Markunas round out the six-player roster.
Fifth-year coach Judy Dwyer and her Mountain Hawks will travel to back to Florida during spring break for the Seminole State Spring Break Tournament March 14-15. Lehigh will also play in the William & Mary Intercollegiate March 27-28 and the Navy Spring Tournament April 8-9.
The Mountain Hawks will host the Patriot League Championship on the Grace Course at Saucon Valley Country Club April 22-23. McGarrigle and Jeong are returning first team All-Patriot League performers, while Jahn was a second team honoree last year. The Mountain Hawks will be hosting for the second time, and bidding to win their first league title since the inaugural Patriot League women's championship in 2013.
