Lehigh Men Suffer Saturday Setback Against Stony Brook

BETHLEHEM, Pa. – The Lehigh men's tennis team surrendered a 5-2 victory to visiting Stony Brook on Saturday evening inside the Lewis Tennis Center. The Mountain Hawks fall to 1-5 on the season, while the Seawolves begin their season at 1-0.
Stony Brook took the early lead by winning the second and third doubles flights by scores of 6-3 and 6-4. No winner was crowned at the flight No. 1 as play was suspended after the Seawolves clinched the doubles point.
The visitors continued to roll as the match moved to the singles competition. The Seawolves claimed wins in order at flights one, two and three to clinch the match victory. Tyler Hoffman survived a three-set battle with Dylan Karchere-Sun at flight No. 3 to seal the win for Stony Brook with a 6-2, 2-6, 6-2 victory.
Colin Nardella earned his first win of the season and the first win of the day for Lehigh with his 1-6, 6-4, 6-1 victory over Rodrigo Hadlich at No. 4 singles. Nardella is now 1-0 while playing at the No. 4 spot this season.
Ethan Bogard made it two-straight wins for the Brown and White when he defeated Hari Rohan, 8-6, at flight No. 5. Bogard is now 2-0 at No. 5 singles and 2-1 overall this season.
The match finished with a closely-contested battle at No. 6 singles with Finn Kemper ultimately prevailing over Graham Lehman by a score of 8-6.
The Mountain Hawks will look to rebound next weekend as they host Mount St. Mary's (Md.) on Saturday at 11 a.m. and then Saint Francis (Pa.) on Sunday at 11 a.m. Both matches scheduled to be played inside the Lewis Tennis Center.
