BETHLEHEM, Pa. - The Lehigh men's basketball team will look to bounce back from a tough road loss at Navy when it returns home Saturday to host archrival Lafayette. Opening tipoff is set for 7 p.m. Several promotions and special events are on tap for Saturday as the game is presented by Urology Specialists of the Lehigh Valley and free foam fingers will be given away to the first 2,500 fans. In addition, several members of the 2011-12 Mountain Hawks, who beat Duke in the NCAA Tournament, will be returning for the game and will be recognized at halftime.

The present-day Mountain Hawks will look to regroup from Wednesday's loss at Navy, a game which featured a number of runs. Lehigh trailed 32-22 at one point, but responded by outscoring the Midshipmen 32-11 over the middle stages of the game. Navy went on to score 27 of the next 34 minutes, opening up a nine-point lead of its own. Trailing by nine heading into the final minute, Lehigh knocked down a pair of three-pointers, got as close as two and had a chance to tie in the final seconds, but senior Austin Price's three-pointer was off the mark as Navy held on, 75-72.

Junior Kahron Ross enjoyed a very strong game, tallying 17 points on 5-of-7 from the field. He also had five assists and zero turnovers. Senior Tim Kempton tallied his 10th double-double of the season, recording 17 points and 10 boards. Senior Austin Price filled up the stat sheet with 14 points, five rebounds, two assists and two steals. Price knocked down 3-of-5 three-pointers and has connected on 16-of-26 treys over his last five games (61.5 percent). Making his second straight start, freshman Pat Andree added 10 points and four rebounds. Junior Brandon Alston was a spark off the bench, scoring eight points. Sophomore Matt Holba helped spark Lehigh's late first-half run, scoring all six of his points in that stretch on a perfect 1-of-1 from the field and 4-of-4 from the free throw line.

The loss snapped Lehigh's six-game winning streak at Navy and marked the Midshipmen's fourth straight win overall. Lehigh and Navy are now tied for third place in the league standings, along with Holy Cross. They're two games behind Bucknell (6-1 record) and one game behind Boston University (5-2). On Saturday, the Mountain Hawks will be searching for their third straight win against Lafayette as the rivalry renews on the hardwood. Lehigh will then wrap up the first round of Patriot League play at Colgate next Wednesday.

Lafayette began Patriot League play 2-1 following wins at Loyola and vs. Army West Point, but the Leopards have since lost four straight - vs. Boston University, at Holy Cross, vs. Navy and at American - to fall to 6-12 overall and 2-5 in the league. Matt Klinewski leads Lafayette in scoring and is second in the Patriot League, averaging 17.6 points per game, along with a team-leading 5.9 rebounds per contest. Nick Lindner comes in at 13.1 points per game and a team-leading 4.4 assists while Paulius Zalys has scored 8.3 points per contest. Lafayette is shooting 43.6 percent from the field this season, but is allowing opponents to shoot 47.1 percent.

Lehigh and Lafayette have gone back-and-forth over the recent years. Last season, the Mountain Hawks swept the season series, winning 87-72 and 73-61, the first season sweep by Lehigh since the 2011-12 campaign. The Mountain Hawks have won four of the last six meetings overall. The long-time rivals first met in 1901-92, a 46-13 Lehigh victory. Lehigh won the first four games with Lafayette's first win coming in 1914-15. Lafayette currently leads the all-time series, 139-84 in the most-played opponent for both schools.

Following Saturday's game, Lehigh will wrap up the first round of Patriot League play when it heads to Colgate on Wednesday. The Mountain Hawks return home on Monday, Jan. 30 to host Boston University at 7 p.m.
