Lehigh Heads to Colgate for Conference Clash

BETHLEHEM, Pa. – Coming off a non-conference win over a strong St. Francis (Pa.) squad on Tuesday, the Lehigh men's soccer team is still in search of its first Patriot League win of the season when the Mountain Hawks travel to Colgate on Saturday. Kickoff in Hamilton, N.Y. is slated for 4:30 p.m.

Lehigh is coming off a 1-0 victory on Tuesday night at home over St. Francis, a team ranked 51st out of 206 teams in the latest RPI rankings. The victory ended a three-game winless drought for the Mountain Hawks who are now 3-5-1 on the season and 0-1-0 against Patriot League competition.
Senior Danny Gonzalez scored the lone tally (38') in the win over SFU as he received assists from juniors Jack Miskel and Doyle Tuvesson. The goal for Gonzalez is his first of the season and the assist for Tuvesson is his third as he is now tied with sophomore Mark Forrest for the team lead. Freshman goalkeeper Will Smith made his second career start in goal and recorded his first career clean sheet as he is now 1-0-1 this season.
Colgate, ranked 21st in the RPI, is coming off a 3-0 loss to Patriot League preseason favorite American last Saturday on the road. The Raiders are 5-3-0 this season with a PL record of 0-1-0.
Colgate is led offensively by Ethan Kutler and Jared Stroud. Kutler has six points on a team-high three goals, while Kutler has five points on one goal and a team-leading three assists. Ricky Brown leads the Colgate net minders with seven starts in seven games played for 630:00 minutes. Brown is 4-3-0 on the season with four shutouts and a 1.29 goals-against average.
The Mountain Hawks are 2-2-0 in road games this season, while the Raiders are 3-1 on their home turf at Byer-Small '76 Field.
In the all-time series, Colgate holds a 14-12-6 advantage since 1989. Lehigh has won the previous three meetings, including the last two meetings in Hamilton, N.Y.
