Lehigh drops 4-1 match to Boston University

WEST POINT, N.Y. – The Lehigh men's tennis team fell 4-1 to Boston University in a neutral site match at Army Saturday afternoon. Sophomore Jack Petersen won both his singles and doubles matches to lead the Mountain Hawks. Lehigh falls to 12-5 overall and 3-3 in league play, while Boston University improves to 10-7 overall and 3-0 against Patriot League foes.
 
The Terriers claimed No. 2 doubles 6-3, but Petersen and freshman George Cooper came back with a 6-4 win at the third flight. The doubles point came down to the top flight where BU was able to narrowly defeat senior Jeremy Kochman and junior Graham Lehman by a score of 7-6 (3) to claim the doubles point.
 
BU's Lucas Bombonatti opened singles action with a 6-2, 6-1 win over freshman Bryant Born. Petersen then put Lehigh on the board with a 6-4, 6-4 decision over Stefan Lemire at No. 2 singles. The Terriers' Jake De Vries defeated junior Ethan Bogard 6-2, 3-6, 6-3 at No. 6 singles before Mario Sandoval clinched the match for BU with a 1-6, 7-6 (5), 6-4 victory over junior Colin Nardella. Kochman and Cooper were both in the third set of singles action when BU clinched the match.
 
Lehigh remains on the road Monday when the Mountain Hawks head to archrival Lafayette for a 3:30 p.m. first serve.
