Mountain Hawks fall 4-1 at Army

WEST POINT, N.Y. – The Lehigh men's tennis team suffered a tough 4-1 loss at Army Friday afternoon in Patriot League action. Sophomore Jack Petersen won No. 2 singles to put Lehigh's point on the board. The Mountain Hawks fall to 12-4 overall and 3-2 against league opponents, while the Black Knights improve to 14-7 overall and 3-0 against league foes.
The Black Knights earned the doubles point with 6-0 and 6-4 wins at the top two flights, respectively. The duo of Petersen and freshman George Cooper were ahead 5-4 in the third flight before Army clinched the doubles point.
Petersen opened singles play with an impressive 6-0, 6-2 win over Grant Riechmann at the second flight to put Lehigh on the board. Army's Harrison McCormick followed with a 6-2, 6-4 win over junior Ethan Bogard at No. 6 singles before freshman Bryant Born fell 6-4, 6-1 at No. 3 singles. Army's Michael Nguyen clinched the match for the Black Knights with a 7-5, 7-5 win over freshman George Cooper.
The Mountain Hawks will be in West Point, N.Y. once again Saturday to take on Boston University at 3 p.m.
