
Lehigh edged by Georgetown for team title at Navy Spring Invitational

ANNAPOLIS, Md. – Lehigh and Georgetown battled back and forth at the Navy Spring Invitational but one stroke proved to be the difference as the Hoyas edged the Mountain Hawks 646-647 to claim the four-team tournament championship Sunday at the Naval Academy Golf Club. Both teams shot 324 in Saturday's opening round but the Hoyas edged Lehigh by one stroke on Sunday, shooting 322 to the Mountain Hawks' 323 to claim the team title.

Christine Schmitt shot a final round 75 to earn individual medalist honors at 10 over par 154, helping Georgetown to the win.
Â
Senior Nicole Feierberg led the way for the Mountain Hawks, finishing in third place at 161 (79-82), seven strokes behind Schmitt.

Freshmen Reagan Jahn and Aileen Jeong led Lehigh with rounds of 79 on Sunday as both players tied for fourth place at 162 (83-79) along with junior Elizabeth McGarrigle, who followed a 79 on Saturday with an 83 Sunday.

Sophomore Megan Moylan was Lehigh's fifth scoring player, finishing in 17th place in the 25-player field at 174 (87-87).

Sophomore Casey Farmer was the low player among five individuals, shooting 82 on Sunday to move into 18th place at 175 (93-82).

Bucknell finished in third place behind Georgetown and Lehigh at 661 (332-329), while host Navy finished fourth at 666 (330-336).

The Mountain Hawks will now shift focus to the Patriot League Championship, April 23-24 at the Bucknell Golf Course in Lewisburg, Pa.
