BETHLEHEM, Pa. – The Lehigh women's golf team will make its spring debut next week when the Mountain Hawks head to Florida for spring break. The Mountain Hawks will kick off their spring at the Lady EagleCat Invitational, cohosted by Bethune-Cookman and Winthrop. After a practice round Sunday, tournament play will take place Monday and Tuesday at the LPGA International in Daytona Beach, Fla.

The Lady EagleCat Invitational is the first of four spring tournaments for the Mountain Hawks, capped by the Patriot League Championship April 23-24 in Lewisburg, Pa.

Lehigh fared well in five fall tournaments, highlighted by a second place finish at the Lehigh Invitational, a fourth place finish out of 14 teams at the Bucknell Invitational,  and a sixth place finish out of 13 teams at the Delaware Invitational.

Junior Elizabeth McGarrigle led the Mountain Hawks in three of their five tournaments in the fall, finishing sixth at Bucknell and tying for sixth at the Lehigh and Delaware Invitationals. McGarrigle led Lehigh with a 78.9 stroke average over 12 rounds.

Senior Nicole Feierberg led Lehigh at the fall-opening Tignanelli Towson Invitational and tied McGarrigle for top Mountain Hawk at the Lehigh Invitational. Feierberg and McGarrigle are the veterans on a six-player Lehigh roster that also features sophomores Casey Farmer and Megan Moylan and freshmen Reagan Jahn and Aileen Jeong. Jeong led Lehigh at the Princeton Invitational and was second to McGarrigle with a 79.8 stroke average in the fall.

Following the Lady EagleCat Invitational, fourth-year coach Judy Dwyer's Mountain Hawks will play in the William & Mary Intercollegiate March 28-29 and the Navy Spring Tournament April 9-10.

The Patriot League Championship returns to Lewisburg, the site where Lehigh claimed the inaugural Patriot League women's title in 2013. The Mountain Hawks were picked third in the six-team Patriot League preseason poll earlier this week.

The Lady EagleCat Invitational begins Monday at the LPGA International in Daytona Beach, Fla. and continues through Tuesday.
