BETHLEHEM, Pa. - After helping lead the Lehigh field hockey team to a 2-0 weekend, junior Laura Yuh has been named Patriot League Defensive Player of the Week, as announced on Tuesday. Yuh continues to anchor the Mountain Hawk defense, which earned a big 1-0 shutout over Patriot League foe Holy Cross Friday night.
Â
Yuh and the Lehigh defense allowed just 10 shots, only four of which were on goal, in the team's first shutout of the season and first shutout of Holy Cross since 1991. It marked the team's first 1-0 win over any team since 2013. Yuh also fired two shots against the Crusaders Friday.
Â
Lehigh also went on to beat Siena, 4-3 in overtime on Sunday as the Mountain Hawks allowed just nine shots for the game, only five of which were on goal. Yuh is currently third in the Patriot League with two defensive saves this season.
Â
Also recognized on Tuesday was senior Marissa Glatt, who earned honorable mention laurels. Glatt scored the game's only goal vs. Holy Cross Friday before assisting on a goal during Sunday's dramatic win.
Â
