Jeong's ace highlights final day for Lehigh at Princeton Invitational

PRINCETON, N.J. – Sophomore Aileen Jeong made a hole-in-one on the 13th hole on her way to a final round 77 as the Lehigh women's golf team finished up play at the Princeton Invitational Sunday at Springdale Golf Club. Jeong delivered the first ace for a Lehigh player since Alyssa Scheyd aced the 14th hole in the 2014 Red Flash Invitational.
 
As a team, the Mountain Hawks shot 321 on Sunday to finish at 947 (309-307-321).
 
Jeong's final round 77 was the lowest round of the day for Lehigh, four strokes better than the next lowest Mountain Hawk. The 2016 Patriot League Rookie of the Year finished in a tie for 49th place at 239 (84-78-77).
 
Lehigh's top finisher was senior Elizabeth McGarrigle, who followed two rounds of 76 Saturday with an 81 Sunday and tied for 38th place at 233.
 
Sophomore Reagan Jahn finished one stroke behind McGarrigle, tying for 42nd place at 234 (79-74-81).
 
Also competing for Lehigh were freshman Minuette Laessig, who tied for 54th place at 245 (80-83-82) and junior Megan Moylan, who shot 247 (85-79-83) and tied for 57th place.
 
Columbia used a final round 298 to take the team title at 891 (292-301-298). Georgetown finished second, two strokes behind, while Yale finished third.
 
Harvard's Michelle Xie was the individual medalist at two under par 214 (68-74-72). Xie posted a six stroke victory over three players.
 
Next up for the Mountain Hawks will be the Lehigh Invitational, Oct. 23-24 on the Grace Course at Saucon Valley Country Club.
