Moravian Results | Bucknell Results
BETHLEHEM, Pa. – The Lehigh men's track and field team wrapped up a busy weekend at Moravian's Coach Pollard Invite and Bucknell's Bison Outdoor Classic Sunday. The Mountain Hawks recorded three IC4A-qualifying marks during the successful weekend.
"It's pretty obvious to us as a coaching staff that the team is starting to come around and put up pretty good marks," said head coach Matt Utesch. "The throwers were excellent again and distance and mid-distance kids are putting up really good times and are running as fast as they've run all season long. I like the way we're progressing as the league championship gets closer and closer."
At Moravian's Coach Pollard Invitational, senior Benjamin Beauchamp recorded a pair of IC4A-qualifying marks in the discus throw (49.85 meters) and hammer throw (54.27 meters) and earned first place in both events. Sophomore Daniel Boardman took home second place in the long jump with a leap of 6.77 meters and fourth in the high jump with a mark of 1.93 meters. Lehigh placed three triple jumpers in the top ten, led by Cody Israel with a 13.90 meter leap that was good for third place. Junior Beau Whitman earned sixth in the pole vault with a mark of 4.10 meters.
Sophomore Kyle Leonard claimed second in the 5,000 meter run after crossing the line in 15:31.13. Freshman Liam Dow finished fourth in the 1,500 meter run with a clip of 4:07.34. Senior Robert Hugin earned eighth place in the 110 meter hurdles with a time of 15.90.
The 4x100 meter relay team of Israel, senior Julian Copeland, sophomore Christopher Del Rossi and freshman Jake Sabatini earned fourth place with a time of 42.93.
At the Bison Outdoor Classic, Senior Ryan Mahalsky turned out an IC4A-qualifying time of 3:50.76 in the 1,500 meter run to finish in 13th place. Freshman Patrick Reilly claimed third place in the 5,000 meter run with a time of 14:51.27.
