BETHLEHEM, Pa. – After nearly a month of preseason preparation, the Lehigh softball team was looking forward to opening the 2015 season and getting outside for the first time. The Mountain Hawks will have to wait one more week. Lehigh was scheduled to play in the Tar Heel Invitational in Chapel Hill, N.C. beginning Friday but that tournament has been cancelled due to inclement weather.
Lehigh was scheduled to open its season with games against Fairleigh Dickinson and Radford on Friday followed by contests against Campbell and North Carolina on Saturday but a week of winter weather and cold temperatures with more foul weather in the forecast for this weekend led to the cancellation.
At this time the Mountain Hawks are scheduled to open their season with five games in three days at the Patriot Classic, hosted by George Mason, February 27-March 1 in Fairfax, Va.
