LEWISBURG, Pa. – A pair of school records from the Lehigh women highlighted the efforts of the Lehigh swimming and diving teams on day one of the Patriot League Championships Wednesday night at Kinney Natatorium. Mountain Hawk swimmers set school records in three of the five contested events Wednesday, with the women setting new marks in both the 200 yard medley relay and the 800 yard free relay. Lehigh's men closed out the day with a school record swim in the 800 yard free relay.

At the end of day one Lehigh's women sit in second place with 66 points, while the men are sixth with 57.

Wednesday's evening session began with senior Alissa Leung, junior Melissa Feeney and sophomores Kelly Carroll and Kaitlyn Ruffing posting a time of 1:43.53 in the 200 medley relay to finish third in the event. The Mountain Hawk quartet took more than three seconds off the previous school mark set in 2010.

Later Wednesday, the 800 free relay team consisting of juniors Carolyn Koch and Courtney Patterson and freshmen Meghan Thompson and Julianne Koch finished second with a school record time of 7:20.31, knocking nearly two seconds off the mark set last year.

On the men's side, Lehigh opened the championship with a sixth place finish in the 200 medley relay with senior Sean Brant, junior Jake Hassel and sophomores Jacob Moyar and Jamal Willis clocking in at 1:32.19.

In the final event of the day seniors Danny Bennett and Owen Dunbar teamed with Moyar and sophomore Justin White to set a school record in the 800 free relay with the time of 6:41.63 breaking the school record set last year.

Wednesday also featured the men's three meter diving competition with senior Dan Bateman scoring three points for the Mountain Hawks with a 14th place finish. Bateman scored 207.90 points in the finals.

Navy holds the early lead on both sides with the women with 80 points, 14 better than the Mountain Hawks. The Navy men have 120 points with Bucknell second with 93.

The Patriot League Championships continue Thursday with preliminaries set for 10:30 a.m. and finals slated to begin at 6 p.m. from Bucknell's Kinney Natatorium.
