Patriot League Release
BETHLEHEM, Pa. - The Lehigh men's basketball home game vs. Lafayette will be picked up by CBS Sports Network as the Feb. 22 flex game, as announced on Friday. The Sunday afternoon showdown will tip at 12 p.m. as the archrivals square off in front of a national TV audience. It will mark Lehigh's second nationally-televised game in an 11-day span as Thursday's win over American was also televised by CBS Sports Network.
The Mountain Hawks defeated the Leopards in the first meeting this season, winning a 75-71 final in Easton. Lehigh led for much of the game, only trailing for 2:21. Five different players reached double-figure points led by 16 from sophomore Austin Price, who scored 14 after halftime and didn't miss a second-half field goal or free throw. Classmate Tim Kempton tallied a double-double (11 points, 10 assists) as well.
Lafayette leads the all-time series, 138-82, but the Mountain Hawks have won seven of the last 11 meetings overall. The teams have a history in the postseason as well. Lehigh defeated Lafayette in the 2010 league championship game at Stabler Arena while the Leopards topped the Mountain Hawks in the 2013 Patriot League Semifinals.
Selections for the Feb. 28 CBS Sports Network flex games will be announced next week. Lehigh plays at Colgate that day in what could prove to be a big matchup. The Mountain Hawks are in sole possession of third place in the Patriot League standings while the Raiders are tied for first.
Following Thursday's win over American, the Mountain Hawks hit the road for two straight as they travel to Holy Cross on Saturday and Navy next Wednesday (Feb. 18).
