BETHLEHEM, Pa. – The Lehigh men's soccer team heads to Army West Point Sunday for a key Patriot League matchup. Kickoff is set for 2 p.m. and free video will be available on the Patriot League Network.
The Mountain Hawks will be looking to bounce back from a tough 3-1 loss at Navy Wednesday. The Mids took a 3-0 lead before a goal in the 74th minute from freshman Mark Forrest put Lehigh on the board, but it wasn't enough as the Mountain Hawks fell 3-1. Lehigh is 1-2 in league play after capturing a 1-0 victory over Colgate and falling 1-0 to Holy Cross. The Mountain Hawks carry a 6-4-1 overall record into Sunday's contest.
Forrest leads the team with 13 points behind five goals and three assists, while senior Jamie Luchini follows with 11 points (four goals, three assists). Sophomore Doyle Tuvesson and freshman Alex Greene have both chipped in two goals apiece. Sophomore keeper Joe Bogan has recorded five shutouts this season to go along with a 0.96 goals allowed average and a 0.824 save percentage.
The Black Knights enter Sunday's contest with a 2-4-3 overall record and 0-1-1 mark in league play. Army West Point fell 1-0 at Lafayette in its Patriot League opener before battling for a 1-1, double-overtime draw at Holy Cross Wednesday. Sunday's contest will be the Black Knights' first league home contest.
Shaban Abousaud leads Army West Point with five points behind two goals and an assist. Christian Ollen follows with two goals, good for four points. Chris Britt has seen all the time in goal for the Black Knights, tallying a 0.92 GAA, 0.763 save percentage and 29 saves.
The Mountain Hawks earned a 2-1 win over Army West Point last season at the Ulrich Sports Complex. The Black Knights hold a slim 20-19-6 advantage in the all-time series between the two programs.
