Lehigh wraps up first fall home event with great success

BETHLEHEM, Pa. – The Lehigh men's tennis team hosted its first of two fall events this weekend as the Mountain Hawks welcomed Morgan State, Loyola and Stevens Tech for the Lehigh Fall Invitational, which finished Sunday on the Ulrich Varsity Courts. Friday and Saturday's matches were played inside the Lewis Tennis Center due to weather. The Mountain Hawks squared off against all three teams in singles and doubles action with strong results.
Freshman George Cooper impressed with a 3-0 singles record and 3-0 doubles mark playing alongside sophomore Jack Petersen.
The Mountain Hawks began the event Friday against Morgan State. Petersen and Cooper earned Lehigh's lone doubles win, before freshman Christopher Auteri, junior Tyler Hansen and Cooper earned victories in third through fifth doubles, respectively.
Lehigh continued play Saturday against Loyola, earning victories in the top three doubles flights including senior Jeremy Kochman and freshman Bryant Born defeating the Greyhounds at the top flight. In singles play, Lehigh won five of seven matches against Loyola, including the top three flights.
The Mountain Hawks wrapped up action Sunday against Stevens Tech and Lehigh was able to claim the top three doubles flights once again. Lehigh earned victories in four of the seven singles flights against Stevens Tech.

Next up, the Mountain Hawks head to the Princeton Farnsworth Invitational next weekend before returning home to host the Patriot League Kickoff on Oct. 16-18.
