Lehigh to get look at PLC course this weekend at Chesapeake Bay Invitational

BETHLEHEM, Pa. - The Lehigh women's golf team will travel to Annapolis, Maryland this weekend to compete in the Chesapeake Bay Invitational, hosted by Navy. The Naval Academy Golf club is the same venue that will be used for the Patriot League Women's Golf Championship in April 2015. The 14-team field for this weekend includes the host Navy along with Lehigh, Dartmouth, Delaware State, Hofstra, Monmouth, Penn, Quinnipiac, Randolph Macon, Richmond, Sacred Heart, Saint Francis (Pa.), Towson, and Wagner.
 
The Mountain Hawks are coming off a seventh place finish at the Bucknell Invitational September 6-7 with a score of 973 (320-333-320). Lehigh was led sophomore Elizabeth McGarrigle and junior Nicole Feierberg. McGarrigle ended the weekend tied for 14th place with a score of 234 (76-86-74) while Feierberg finished in 26th place at 240 (78-84-78). Seton Hall took home the team title with a final score of 899 (305-301-293).
 
Host and Patriot League rival Navy placed 12th out of 15 teams last weekend at the Tignanelli Towson Invitational.  Navy shot an overall score of 647 (324-323) led by junior Renata Bucher who finished eighth out of 79 golfers.
 
The Chesapeake Bay Invitational will tee off at 8:30 a.m. on both Saturday and Sunday from the par 72 Naval Academy Golf club. Saturday will feature 36 holes of play with the final 18 holes set for Sunday.
