Mountain Hawks predicted second in Patriot League

BETHLEHEM, Pa. – The Lehigh men's cross country team has been predicted to finish second in this year's Patriot League preseason poll announced Wednesday. The Mountain Hawks finished second at last year's Patriot League Championship and won the league title in 2012.
In this year's poll, Lehigh rounded up 145 points with five first place votes sitting only behind Navy with 158 points and 14 first place votes. Navy captured last year's Patriot League title with 61 points, while the Mountain Hawks were close behind with a total of 63.
The Patriot League Preseason Poll is voted on by the league's head coaches and sports information directors.
Behind Lehigh, the rest of the preseason poll in order was American (126/one first place vote), Army (112), Boston University (104), Bucknell (87), Holy Cross (61), Colgate (49), Lafayette (30), and Loyola (28).
Lehigh will be hosting this year's Patriot League Championship on the Goodman Campus cross country course on Nov. 1. Returning Mountain Hawks include senior Ryan Mahalsky, a 2012 and 2013 first team All-Patriot League selection, and fifth-year senior Jimmy Miller, a 2012 first team All-Patriot League selection.
The Mountain Hawks returned to campus last Friday to begin preseason camp and will open up their season on August 29 when they host the Lehigh Invitational.
