Lehigh men remain fifth after three days at Patriot League Championships

ANNAPOLIS, Md. – The Lehigh men's swimming and diving team remains in fifth place after day three of the Patriot League Championships at Navy's Lejeune Hall. Freshman Jacob Moyar broke his second school record in as many days to lead the Mountain Hawks, who are sitting on 208 points. Lehigh is 102 points behind fourth place Bucknell. Host Navy is comfortably ahead as the Mids seek their 11th straight men's title.
 
Moyar was the only Lehigh male to reach a championship final on Friday as he took fourth in the 400 yard individual medley. In the morning prelims, Moyar set a school record with a time of 3:57.79 and then bettered it in the finals swimming an impressive 3:56.63.
 
Junior Jake Greene took ninth in the same event, winning the B final in 3:58.65.
 
Senior Chris Hoke posted Lehigh's next-highest individual finish as he finished 11th overall in the 100 yard butterfly. Hoke swam a 50.31 in the finals after a 49.94 morning swim.
 
Lehigh had two swimmers in the B final in both the 200 yard freestyle and the 100 yard backstroke. In the 200 free freshman Justin White finished 14th in 1:40.69 with junior Owen Dunbar two spots behind in 1:41.54. In the 100 back it was juniors Martin Kendig and Sean Brant finishing 15th and 16th respectively. Kendig clocked in at 51.58 seconds with Brant .12 behind.
 
The Mountain Hawks took eighth place in the only relay event of the day, the 400 yard medley as Kendig and Hoke teamed with freshmen Kevin Huntley and Jamal Willis to post a time of 3:24.80.
 
The Patriot League Championships conclude Saturday at Navy's Lejeune Hall. Preliminaries are set for 10:30 a.m. with finals set to start at 6 p.m. Once again, video coverage of the meet will be available online via the Patriot League Network.
