PHILADELPHIA – The Lehigh men's swimming and diving team clinched a winning dual meet season with a tightly-contested 157-139 win over Drexel in the regular season finale Saturday at the Drexel Pool. Junior Danny Bennett and freshmen Jacob Moyar and Justin White won two individual events apiece as the Mountain Hawks won nine of 16 events on the day to finish the dual meet season at 6-4 while handling Drexel just its second dual meet loss.
Â
"We won both the men's and women's meets and we had to swim well to do it," said Lehigh head coach Rob Herb. "The team went out and did just that. They did not stop pressing. It was a great effort until the very end."
Â
Bennett led Lehigh's lone top three sweep of the meet winning the 1000 yard freestyle in 9:51.72. Juniors Eric Sherwood and Jake Greene finished second and third respectively. Later, Bennett added a win in the 500 free in 4:45.87 with Sherwood placing second.
Â
Freshmen won all three sprint freestyle events with White taking the 200 in 1:44.39 and the 100 in 47.27. Jamal Willis won the 50 free in 20.85 seconds with senior Chris Hoke finishing second.

Moyar's two wins came in the 200 yard butterfly (1:52.90) and the 200 yard individual medley (1:55.27). He also took second to White in the 200 free.
Â
Freshman Justin Kostelnik added Lehigh's other individual win, capturing the 200 yard backstroke in 1:53.00.
Â
In the final event of the meet, Willis, White and Hoke teamed up with junior Martin Kending to set a pool record in the 200 free relay with a time of 1:23.35.
Â
Junior Dan Bateman added eight points with second place finishes in both the one and three meter diving events.
Â
The Mountain Hawks will now set their sights on the Patriot League Championships, February 19-22 in Annapolis, Md.
