Mountain Hawks head to New Jersey for Rutgers Invitational

BETHLEHEM, Pa. - The Lehigh women's golf team will head to Piscataway, N.J. this weekend to compete in the Rutgers Invitational. The 17-team field will feature the host Rutgers along with Lehigh, Albany, Central Connecticut State, Dartmouth, Fairfield, Fairleigh Dickinson, Hofstra, Long Island, Monmouth, Penn, Quinnipiac, Saint John's, Sacred Heart, St. Francis-Brooklyn, St. Francis (Pa.) and Wagner.
 
The Mountain Hawks are coming off an impressive fourth place finish at the Navy Fall Invitational.  Lehigh was led by sisters Kelly and Megan Moylan. The Moylans finished the invitational tied for ninth place. Senior captain Kelly led Lehigh's scoring players tying for ninth at 236 (76-79-81), while sister Megan, a freshman, finished with a 76 to close out the weekend at 81-79-76. Senior Melanie Dickens, posted the second best score for the Mountain Hawks and tied for 14th at 237 (79-82-76).
 
Last year, the Mountain Hawks finished seventh out of 20 teams at the Rutgers Invitational. They were led by Kelly Moylan who finished 18th overall at 81-74-155. Lehigh concluded the invitational with a score of 322-308-630.
 
The Rutgers Invitational will tee off at 8:30 a.m. on both Friday and Saturday from the par 72 Rutgers University Golf Course. The event will feature 18 holes on Friday while the last 18 will be played on Saturday.
 
Following the Rutgers Invitational, Lehigh will compete in the Princeton Invitational next weekend before closing out the fall season with the Lehigh Invitational on October 26-27.
