WORCESTER, Mass. – Behind a strong all-around team performance, the Lehigh men's swimming and diving team capped its season-opening trip to New England with a convincing 162-127 win over Holy Cross Sunday at the Hart Center Pool.

Lehigh won 13 of the first 14 events before competing unscored in the final two events of the meet. The Mountain Hawks also had just one scorer in each of the five swimming events from event nine to 13.

Sophomore Kevin Huntley and senior diver Dan Bateman both won two events as the Mountain Hawks evened their season record at 1-1.

Bateman captured both the three and one meter diving events, scoring 261.75 points in the three meter and 238.79 in the one meter.

Huntley's two wins came in the breaststroke events, winning the 50 in 28.09 and the 100 in 1:01.16. Lehigh swept the top three spots in the 50 with senior Owen Dunbar and freshman Tyler Lessner occupying the second and third spots.

Senior Sean Brant led a sweep in the 50 back with a time of 26.06, followed by juniors Matt Carducci and Sean Daugherty. The only of the first five events where Lehigh didn't sweep was the 1000 free, where senior Eric Sherwood won in 10:25.84, followed by classmate Michael Wheaton, who finished second.

Willis added an individual win in the 50 free (21.59), with classmate Justin White finishing second. White later won the 100 free in 47.51.
