Kempton earns third Rookie of the Week honor

BETHLEHEM, Pa. - Freshman standout Tim Kempton has been named Patriot League Rookie of the Week after leading the Lehigh men's basketball team to hard-fought victories over Navy and Lafayette last week. Kempton now has three Rookie of the Week honors under his belt, while classmate Austin Price owns one.

Kempton scored a team-high 15 points on 6-of-10 shooting while adding six rebounds to help Lehigh to a 68-66 overtime victory at Navy Wednesday. Lehigh followed with a 71-68 win over Lafayette on Sunday, leading led the Mountain Hawks in scoring (with sophomore Justin Goldsborough), finishing 7-of-10 from the field for 19 points. He also added seven boards and a steal.

Kempton is now averaging 12.8 points per game, which is second highest on the Mountain Hawks, and leads the team in rebounding with 6.9 per game.

Goldsborough was also recognized on honorable mention following a standout week, scoring 32 points on a combined 13-of-14 shooting. He is now shooting 76.4 percent from the field this season (42-of-55).

The Mountain Hawks wrap up the first round of Patriot League play when they host Bucknell on Wednesday at 7 p.m. in Stabler Arena.
