BETHLEHEM, Pa. – The Lehigh swimming and diving teams will compete against Patriot League newcomer Loyola Saturday at Jacobs Pool. Both Mountain Hawk teams are looking to bounce back after losing at Army on January 10. The Mountain Hawks return to Jacobs Pool for their first time since sweeping Lafayette on November 22. The two Lehigh teams combined to set one school record and seven pool records against the Leopards.

Prior to Saturday's meet, Lehigh swimming and diving will welcome back its 1998 Patriot League women's champion and 1999 Patriot League men's champion teams. There will be a reception in the Hall of Fame for alumni and their families and members of those teams will be recognized prior to the meet.

The Mountain Hawk men stand at 4-3 on the season and are 2-1 against Patriot League competition. The women's team is 5-1 overall and is also 2-1 in the Patriot League.

Freshman Jacob Moyar led the men's team against Army, winning the 200 yard butterfly and 500 yard freestyle. Chris Hoke finished second place in the 50 yard freestyle and junior Sean Brant also had a pair of runner-up finishes in the 100 and 200 yard backstroke events.

The women's sprinters led the way for the squad against Army. Sophomore Carolyn Koch won the 100 and 200 yard freestyle events and Kaitlyn Ruffing completed the sweep in the sprints with a win in the 50 yard freestyle. Freshman Kelly Carroll finished just .14 seconds behind Koch in the 100 to earn the second place finish.

The Greyhounds are new to the Patriot League this year and both teams are competing in their first meet since hosting the H2ounds invitational December 7, when both teams defeated Iona and Saint Peters and fell to Marist.

The Greyhound men defeated Colgate and tied Lafayette earlier in the season, while the women earned victories against both opponents. Loyola's men enter Saturday's meet at 5-4-1 overall, while the women are an impressive 10-1.

After Saturday's meet, the Mountain Hawks will host Bucknell on January 25 before splitting their squad on the final day of the regular season as some Lehigh swimmers will compete in the Navy Invitational on February 1 and others will compete in a dual meet at Drexel.

Diving starts at 10 a.m. followed by the swimming events at 1 p.m. Saturday at Jacobs Pool.
