BETHLEHEM, Pa - The Lehigh field hockey team will host Patriot League rival Lafayette on Saturday at 11 a.m. before heading to Philadelphia to face La Salle on Sunday at 2 p.m. The Lafayette game will air live on the Patriot League Digital Network.

The Mountain Hawks are coming off a pair of 4-1 losses last weekend against Bucknell (4-1) and #11 Albany (4-1).

The Bison ran out to an early 3-0 lead on Saturday, but Lehigh clawed back. Freshman Marissa Glatt scored once again and Julia Ward made seven saves in goal. The Mountain Hawks pulled within a pair until Bucknell scored an insurance goal with less than seven minutes remaining for the 4-1 final.

Lehigh and #11 nationally-ranked Albany played a close first half as the Mountain Hawks trailed by one for the first 30 minutes. The Great Danes scored two quick goals to head into the half leading 3-0, but once again, both Glatt and Ward stood out. Glatt scored for a sixth straight game to pull Lehigh within 3-1 with time still remaining, while Ward posted a career-high 21 saves in goal. Both freshmen earned honorable mention recognition on the Patriot League Weekly Honor Roll.

Lafayette heads to Lehigh with a 2-5 record coming off three consecutive losses. The Leopards' two victories have come against Central Michigan and Quinnipiac. They've played a challenging schedule, including nationally-ranked Connecticut, Albany, Penn State and Iowa. Saturday will mark Lafayette's Patriot League opener.

Hanna Sotiropoulos leads the Leopards in goals (3) and points (6) while Kristin Heaney is second with four points behind a goal and two assists. Seven different Lafayette players have scored goals. Jessica Deutsch has played every minute in goal, owning a 2.71 GAA and 60.4 save percentage.

Lafayette leads the all-time series, 35-12-3 and has beaten Lehigh nine straight times. The Mountain Hawks' last victory came in 2005 by a 1-0 final.

La Salle is coming off a 3-2 loss at Penn Wednesday and enters with a 2-7 overall record. The Explorers are a perfect 2-0 at home and 0-7 away from home.

Olivia Shoemaker leads the team in scoring with 15 points (six goals, three assists) while Maddy Tettelbach has 11 (four goals, three assists) and Mariel Papa owns 10 (five goals). Shoemaker has fired by far and away the most shots (41) while Olivia Leaman has all four of La Salle's defensive saves. Lisa Shaffer has played every minute in goal, posting a 3.27 GAA and 72.7 save percentage.

The Mountain Hawks are 15-13-2 all-time against La Salle. Two seasons ago, Lehigh won the last meeting, 4-3 in overtime.

Following the weekend, the Mountain Hawks head to Connecticut to play Sacred Heart on Friday before returning home to host Rider on Sunday.
