
Mountain Hawks head to La Salle on Saturday

BEHTLEHEM, Pa. – The Lehigh men's soccer team will travel to Philadelphia this Saturday to take on La Salle at 1 p.m. Lehigh is searching for its second straight win before it gets ready for Patriot League play the following Saturday (Sept. 28) at American.
The Mountain Hawks are coming off a hard-fought 1-0 victory over Yale this past Sunday. The Lehigh defense once again played an outstanding game to blank its opponent. Despite being outshot 13-10, junior goalie Kevin Motylewski saved all four shots on goal to record his second shutout of the season. Senior captain Ben Wysocki scored the decisive goal against the Bulldogs off a penalty kick in the 36th minute.
La Salle, who currently holds a 1-2-2 record, is coming off a heartbreaking 1-0 loss to Drexel in the final seconds. Senior Jason Plumhoff leads the Explorers with four goals and two assists, while goalie John McCarthy has notched 25 saves and recorded a save percentage of .806.
Saturday's game marks the 28th all-time meeting between the two teams, with La Salle leading the series 15-9-3. The Explorers got the better of Lehigh in last season's matchup, defeating the Mountain Hawks 2-0.
A live broadcast and live stats will be available for the match Saturday. Following the match, the Mountain Hawks will return to action on Saturday September 28 when they head to American to begin Patriot League play.
