Knutson and D’Orazio named to NABC Honors Court

BETHLEHEM, Pa. - Gabe Knutson and Anthony D'Orazio of Lehigh men's basketball have been named to the NABC Honors Court, as announced by the National Association of Basketball Coaches on Wednesday. The Accounting majors are two of more than 700 student-athletes from over 285 colleges/universities across the nation recognized for a cumulative GPA of 3.2 or higher at the conclusion of the 2012-13 academic year.
Only juniors and seniors are eligible for the honors court. In order to be named to the Honors Court, a student-athlete must meet a high standard of academic criteria.
Both Knutson and D'Orazio are Accounting majors. Knutson graduated in May with a stellar 3.24 GPA while D'Orazio enters his senior year with a strong GPA of 3.34.
Knutson, who recently signed to play professionally in Bulgaria, wrapped up his Lehigh career standing ninth in school history with 1,526 career points. The Iowa native was an All-District honoree by the NABC, averaging a career-high 13.9 points along with 4.3 rebounds. Knutson was named an Academic All-Patriot League honoree for a third straight season and was one of two Mountain Hawks (along with C.J. McCollum) named an initial candidate for the Senior CLASS Award. Knutson scored a season-high 28 points at North Texas on Dec. 20, including 10-of-14 from the field and 4-of-5 from three-point range.
D'Orazio enjoyed a breakout junior season, playing in 31 games with 29 starts. He averaged 6.4 points and 3.7 rebounds per game, including a career-high tying 17 points at Colgate on Feb. 16. D'Orazio posted his first-career double-double with 15 points and 10 rebounds at Army, while also posting 15 points in a win over American. D'Orazio reached double-digit points on seven occasions.
Lehigh wrapped up its season with a 21-10 record while advancing to the College Basketball Invitational, the third time in the last four years the Mountain Hawks have eclipsed 20 wins and made a national postseason tournament.
