Lehigh finishes strong to place ninth at Hoya Invitational

BEALSVILLE, Md. – Senior Chelsea Michalek shot a final round 73 to lead the Lehigh women's golf team in a strong final round of the Hoya Invitational Tuesday at The Members Club at Four Streams. The Mountain Hawks shot a respectable 311 to finish in ninth place in the 14-team field with an overall score of 981 (328-342-311).
Also competing for the Mountain Hawks were junior Crystal Lee, freshman Nicole Feierberg and sophomore Kelly Moylan. Lee shot 84 on Tuesday to tie for 52nd place at 251 (83-84-84). Feierberg finished with a 78, her best round of the tournament to finish at 256 (86-92-78), good for 63rd place. Moylan also had her best round of the tournament with a final round 81 to tie for 68th at 263 (90-92-81).
Tuesday featured the lowest team scoring rounds of the tournament, and Campbell finished at 290 to take the team title at 894 (299-305-290), 13 strokes better than second place Yale. Seton Hall finished third, while Penn and Nova Southeastern tied for fourth.
Harin Lee of St. John's was one of three players to card rounds of 69 on Tuesday as she earned medalist honors at one under par 215 (73-73-69). Lee posted a one-shot win over Lisbeth Brooks of Campbell and Amanda Chin of Penn who tied for second.
The Mountain Hawks will head to Rhode Island this weekend to take part in the Brown Invitational, beginning Sunday at Rhode Island CC in Barrington, R.I.
