Mountain Hawks finish up play in Rhode Island

BARRINGTON, R.I. – The Lehigh women's golf team shot a final round 334 as the Mountain Hawks finished in 12th place at the Brown Bear Invitational, which concluded Monday at Rhode Island Country Club. The Mountain Hawks finished at 327-334-661 in their final tune-up before this weekend's inaugural Patriot League Championship in Lewisburg, Pa.
 
Freshman Nicole Feierberg and senior Chelsea Michalek led Lehigh on Monday with rounds of 81. Feierberg finished at 79-81-160 to tie for 23rd overall, while Michalek tied for 33rd at 82-81-163.
 
Also competing for Lehigh were junior Crystal Lee, sophomore Alyssa Scheyd and senior Ginette Schapira. Lee tied for 48th place at 84-85-169, while Scheyd followed up an opening round 82 with a second round 88 to tie for 57th place at 170. Schapira tied for 57th at 84-87-171.
 
Yale University shot a final round 295 to capture the team title with a score of 309-295-604. The Bulldogs cruised to a 17-stroke win over Seton Hall, while Harvard finished in third place 19 strokes behind.
 
Jennifer Neville of St. John's captured individual medalist honors, winning a three-way playoff with Sun Gyoung Park of Yale and Kristyna Pavlickova of Boston University. All three players shot 75-72-147.
 
The Mountain Hawks will head to Lewisburg, Pa. for the inaugural Patriot League Women's Golf Championship, hosted by Bucknell Saturday and Sunday at the Bucknell Golf Course. Holy Cross and Navy will compete along with Lehigh and the host Bison.
