Lehigh falls to Army in second Patriot League contest

WEST POINT, N.Y. – Coming off a 7-0 shutout victory against Holy Cross on Saturday, the Lehigh men's tennis team fell to Army 5-2 on Sunday in Lichtenberg Tennis Center. Lehigh drops to 12-4 overall and 1-1 in Patriot League action. Army is right behind Lehigh in the overall standings at 12-5, but remains unbeaten in the Patriot League at 3-0.
Junior Mark Goldberg won the first set of his match against Rashad Shelton 6-4 before falling in the next two 6-3 and 6-1. In the third singles flight, sophomore Mitchell Petersen battled back against Caison Best to take the second set 6-4, but fell in the third set by the same score to conclude the day.
Lehigh will continue Patriot League play when it hosts local rival Lafayette at 4 p.m. April 5 on the Ulrich Varsity Courts.
