Mountain Hawks post top ten team finish at C&F Bank Intercollegiate

WILLIAMSBURG, Va. – The Lehigh women's golf team enjoyed a strong finish at the C&F Bank Intercollegiate as the second round of the weather-shortened tournament was completed Tuesday on the River Course at Kingsmill Resort. The Mountain Hawks bettered their opening round 321 with a second round 302 to finish at 623, which tied Lehigh for ninth place in the 28 team field.
 
While Sunday's opening round saw only one of five Lehigh players break 80, all five players shot 78 or better in round two, led by junior Crystal Lee, who shot 74 to tie for 15th overall at 79-74-153
 
Sophomore Kelly Moylan was Lehigh's No. 2 finisher, tying for 29th at 80-76-156. Senior Chelsea Michalek shot 158 (80-78) to tie for 47th place.
 
Others who competed for the Mountain Hawk were freshman Nicole Feierberg who shot 82-77-159 to tie for 51st, and senior Ginette Schapira, who rebounded from an opening round 85 to shoot 75 in round two. Schapira tied for 56th place with her score of 160.
 
Boston College's Vinh-Hoa Ngo earned medalist honors with a 145 (74-71), defeating Longwood's Hannah Pierce by two strokes.
 
The Eagles also captured the team title shooting 598 (302-296) to defeat Richmond by 11 strokes. Lehigh tied for ninth with host William & Mary but finished just six strokes out of the top five.
 
The Mountain Hawks will return to action at the Georgetown Invitational, April 8-9 in Beallsville, Md.
