BALTIMORE– The Lehigh volleyball team captured a 3-1 (25-23, 25-23, 23-25, 25-20) victory at Loyola on Saturday afternoon. The Mountain Hawks picked up their fifth straight win over the Greyhounds, and second this year, en route to Lehigh's ninth league win.
"It was a very close match," said head coach Bob Bertucci. "It was a devastating loss last night so the fact that they were able to come back and win today was great. Our serving and passing today was great and we did a fantastic job of attacking with the serve."
Loyola got out to a quick 3-0 start in the first set, but a kill from sophomore Ana Vrhel and a block from Vrhel and sophomore Amy Matula quickly gave the Mountain Hawks a 4-3 lead. The teams went back and forth until the set was knotted at 11. Lehigh proceeded to go on a 5-1 run to take a 16-12 advantage.
